FAQ · Foremind

Twelve questions contractors actually ask — what Foremind does on the jobsite, how it compares with Procore, Buildertrend, and the spreadsheet workflow, where your data lives, and how support, mobile access, and QuickBooks fit together. Anything not covered here, email us directly.
Product
What Foremind does on the jobsite — what "autonomous" actually means, how estimates are reviewed before they leave the system, and where the mobile field access fits.
It means the four core jobs — drafting the estimate, building the schedule, coordinating the crew, and writing the client update — run themselves on a cadence the job actually needs. You set the rules (rates, margin, who gets texted when) once and Foremind runs the playbook; you stay on the calls only the machine cannot make, the margin decision and the change-order talk. See the full breakdown of what runs without you on how it works.
Pricing & Value
How much time and money Foremind actually saves, what a subscription costs vs. Procore or Buildertrend, and what support looks like once you are a customer.
On a typical residential remodel, contractors running Foremind in early access report losing 60–90 minutes of typing for every bid (the AI drafts the line items, you keep the rates and the margin), an entire morning a week reclaimed from crew coordination texts, and the end-of-day client update written before the truck leaves the site. The dollar impact depends on the size of your bid pipeline, but most early-access shops see payback inside the first month of running their first five jobs through it.
Data & Security
Where your jobs and client information live, who at Foremind can see them, and how that data is — and is not — used.
On encrypted, US-based infrastructure run by the same providers you would expect from any modern SaaS — SOC 2-compliant data centers, encrypted at rest, encrypted in transit. Your scope notes, drawings, takeoffs, client contact information, and bid history stay inside your Foremind workspace and you own them outright; we do not co-mingle contractor data across companies, and we will not sell, share, or analyze your data to train the underlying product on it.
Migration
Where Foremind sits next to Procore, Buildertrend, and the spreadsheet stack — and how disruptive the cutover (or the first spin-up) actually is.
Procore and Buildertrend are legitimate tools, and we are not trying to convince every contractor to leave them on vibe — they fit the shop that runs a back-office audit and a full-time PM. Where they get heavy is on the nine-figure-project end (Procore) and the all-in-one PM-plus-client-experience end (Buildertrend); Foremind is built for the contractor running five-to-six-figure residential and light-commercial work where the bid pipeline is the bottleneck, not the back-office. If you are billing nine figures with a full audit trail, stay on Procore. If your Buildertrend bill is starting to outweigh the time it saves, that is the cohort we built for. The full comparison runs through how it works.
